Reaching for the top: throwback to the Fashion Week

8 April 2020

On May 8th, 1978 Reinhold Messner climbs mount Everest all by himself and without additional oxygen. In the same year, skier Ingemar Stenmark, wearing the bright yellow colour of the Swedish National flag, wins the World Cup: his victories are still undefeated. In the same period Phil and Steve Mahre, American twins with a strong, unique style, gain a lot of success as well.

Big challanges deal with mythical looks, reinvented by the FILA collection with a contemporary twist: jumpsuits, bomber jackets and boots embody a renewed will to dare, as creative directors Antonino Ingrasciotta and Josef Graesel know well. The new collection has been presented last February, 23rd, at the Milan Fashion Week, with an exclusive event whose display was inspired by the suggestions of natural ice walls. The exhibition involved flashing white lights and deep darkness, sensorial corridors and hologram appearances, conveying belts and fluorescent windows: the confirmation of the greatness of a brand, but most importantly of the innate predisposition of men to search for challanges, aware that (Mr Messner will prove us right) if there’s a limit, that is the sky.
